Effective Use of Organisational Abstractions for Confidence Models

چکیده
Trust and reputation systems are not only useful for Virtual Organisations (VOs), but VOs also for trust and reputation mechanisms. The structure provided by a VO can be used to construct more effective trust mechanisms. In particular, the structural elements defined in a VO (e.g., roles and interactions) provide a certain notion of similarity which allows agents to infer the expected behaviour of acquaintances within new situations by analysing their past behaviour within similar situations. This property is especially useful in situations where agents do not yet have sufficient experiences related to a specific type of interaction, or within very volatile environments. In this paper [1] we continue our previous work [2] on trust mechanisms for VOs. We present some experiments that show how the use of organisational abstractions can effectively improve trust mechanisms. We also put forward a testbed developed to compare trust models in VOs (TOAST).

Organizational Abstractions for the Analysis and Design of Multi-agent Systems
The architecture of a multi-agent system can naturally be viewed as a computational organisation. For this reason, we believe organisational abstractions should play a central role in the analysis and design of such systems. To this end, the concepts of agent roles and role models are increasingly being used to specify and design multi-agent systems. However, this is not the full picture. In th...

متن کاملLEVERAGING THE PUBLISH-FIND-USE PARADIGM OF SOA Supporting enterprise collaboration across organisational boundaries
Service Oriented Architecture (SOA) has been widely recognized as an approach for flexible integration of enterprise applications across organisational boundaries based on service abstractions and Internet standards. Enterprise collaboration and application integration is driven by business requirements, which in turn are translated to business models and expressed as business processes. For ex...
متن کاملResource Based View: A Promising New Theory for Healthcare Organizations; Comment on “Resource Based View of the Firm as a Theoretical Lens on the Organisational Consequences of Quality Improvement”
This commentary reviews a recent piece by Burton and Rycroft-Malone on the use of Resource Based View (RBV) in healthcare organizations. It first outlines the core content of their piece. It then discusses their attempts to extend RBV to the analysis of large scale quality improvement efforts in healthcare. Some critique is elaborated. The broader question of why RBV seems to be migrating into ...
متن کاملClinician Perspectives of Barriers to Effective Implementation of a Rapid Response System in an Academic Health Centre: A Focus Group Study
Background Systemic and structural issues of rapid response system (RRS) models can hinder implementation. This study sought to understand the ways in which acute care clinicians (physicians and nurses) experience and negotiate care for deteriorating patients within the RRS. Methods Physicians and nurses working within an Australian academic health centre within a jurisdictional-based model o...
